Maternal and Infant
Environmental Health Riskscape
(MIEHR) Research Center

Project Description

This project built a new site for a newly awarded NIH P50 center. Unlike many academic research centers which focus on the needs of their constituent institutions and their member investigators, this center wanted their site to be accessible for community members.

When developing the content I stressed the importance of writing in plain language, as plain as possible for each page. We also made sure to provide a glossary of scientific terms and link those words as they appeared in the text. To make sure we were not missing the mark, they engaged their community advisory board in the review of information provided on the website and the glossary content.

This project also involved the creation of a logo for the center, which I helped coordinate with an external designer to fit their needs.

This website was designed using WordPress and self-hosted with FlyWheel.
